Brunel University of London

Dr. Lahiri is a senior lecturer at Brunel University of London (BUL). He got his PhD from the University of Leeds in 2008 in mineral processing, after which he went on to do his Postdoc at the University of Alabama, USA. He got the ‘WPI-AIMR’ fellowship in 2010 at Tohoku University, Japan where he worked on interfacial electrochemistry using a newly designed optical microscope with atomic resolution. From November 2011 he joined Clausthal University of Technology in Prof Frank Endres group and worked extensively on electrodeposition in ionic liquids and understanding the battery electrode/electrolyte interface.

His research primarily focusses on electrochemical synthesis of functional materials for energy storage and conversion, and developing sustainable process for recovery of metal/metal oxides from e-wastes and batteries. He has four international patents related to mineral processing/metal extraction and hydrogen production. He has over 65 peer-reviewed publications in batteries, electrochemistry, and mineral processing.
