Over the past 45 years I have built a successful career in business, both in the public and private sectors.

I have been CEO of major industrial and mining corporations in Africa, China, Russia, UK, North America and the Middle East, including senior executive positions in Anglo American Corporation, De Beers, British Energy, British Rail, and Murray and Roberts (International), Kinross, Basic Element (EN+), White Tiger Gold, Century Mining. I have advised several governments on economic growth and expansion (Oman, Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa, Romania, Serbia, Hungary, Poland and the former Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic), I helped to direct the rebuilding of mining and heavy primary industries of several countries in Eastern Europe following the collapse of the USSR, under the auspices of the EU as CEO of the European Developments Corporation. For several years I worked as Senior Advisor on Africa (Political and Economic), to the World Economic Forum, attending the annual meeting of government and business leaders at Davos.

In addition to the above executive appointments, I have been Chairman of many mining organisations throughout Asia, Europe, Russia, North America and Africa.

Currently, I am Group CEO of EDC Holdings Group and a director advisor of several companies in Mining, Energy and Financial Services.

My experience and expertise include Project Management (Capital Projects), public and corporate administration, including privatisation, operational and economic restructuring issues and government advisory. I am seen by my peers as an expert in the field of Mining, Metallurgy and Energy economics; in developing mining and primary metallurgical companies and in restructuring distressed assets.

I have a post graduate degree in Engineering, am a chartered engineer, and hold fellowships of several major professional institutions in the UK. In 2014, I was the recipient of the Medal for Excellence, awarded for outstanding contribution to the global mining/metallurgical industry, by the institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining in the United Kingdom.
