Dr Yingjun Liu is the co-founder and CTO of Porotech, a global microLED system solution provider. He leads Porotech's technological innovation to bolster strategic growth in the semiconductor industry, addressing manufacturing challenges with scalable solutions.

Dr Liu has played a key role in the commercialisation of PoroGaN® platform technology, particularly in microLEDs, which are advancing augmented reality and high-speed optical communication. His leadership in research has also helped shape international microLED industrial standards, reinforcing the UK’s position in advanced materials innovation.

Beyond research, Dr Liu has championed industrial collaboration, fostering alliances to scale up material innovations. He was awarded the RAEng Industrial Fellowship in 2024 and the Shott Scale Up Accelerator in 2022.
