Dr Rumen I. Tomov is a RA in industrially funded energy nano-materials projects. His research interests are focused in the field of functional materials for energy generation and storage with emphasis on nano-engineered electrodes for secondary batteries and fuel cells.
He was involved in the development of successful protocols for fabricating various devices with novel architectures (HTSC coated conductors, magneto-electric sensors, SOFCs, primary and secondary batteries, enzyme fuel cells etc.) via various techniques (e.g. pulsed laser and pulsed electron deposition, inkjet printing, plasma deposition, doctor blading etc.).
He has undertaken some pioneering work in the field of green technology for Lead Acid battery recycling. R.I. Tomov has published over 90 scientific papers in refereed journals and co-authored 4 patents. He served as Guest Editor for Special Issues on “Inkjet Printing of Nanomaterials” (MDPI).
